Downtown Courtyard County Courthouse
Paw Paw is the county seat for Van Buren County, a thriving community sandwiched between Detroit and Chicago and offering small town living with big city ideals. This area is also wine country, featuring two superb Paw Paw wineries, Warner Vineyards and St. Julian. St. Julian offers wine tasting and tours daily. The area also has several outstanding restaurants, The Bistro 120, Brewster's, Gallaghers, Kevin's on the River, the Copper Grill, Decoy Duck and Big T as well as mom and pop diners and plenty of fast food joints.

Maple and Ackley Lakes are located in downtown Paw Paw as well as Maple Island where families can go for picnics or a day at the beach. There are several area lakes that have public access points for launching your boat for a day of aquatic fun and fishing. The Lake Michigan shoreline is just twenty minutes west of Paw Paw where you can spend your day sunning or shopping the quaint stores of downtown South Haven. Maple Island Village Playhouse
Entertainment in the area may include an evening at the Village Playhouse where local talent gather to put on some terrific programs. Rainy weekends may be just right for a matinee at the historic Strand Theatre and an ice cream cone at the Sugar Bear Ice Cream Parlor. Check out Brewster's in Paw Paw or Top Hat Brewery in Lawton for an evening of live music featured most weekend nights. If Van Buren County doesn't offer enough to keep you busy then the cities of Kalamazoo and Portage are just a twenty minute drive east of here with more shopping, theatres and entertainment venues for your enjoyment.
